OW! It makes mine hurt just to think about it. My best the neighbor kid or kids to do it. You don’t want Dan to do it because then you’d be taking care of him too.
I push snow using a curved arc, starting with a little bite of snow, about an eighth of the shovel width. Like a snow plow I move the snow across the walk without lifting. The only place lifting may be needed is on the steps. PSA from growing up in Buffalo.
Owch! This is why I have a tens machine. Not the popular expensive one but another brand that charges faster and isn’t depleted when I forget to turn it off.
I spent a good part of my workout digging out my car (suburb in E Kansas) to go to my gym for elliptical machine work. I probably wouldn’t have survived if not for residual conditioning. Dig it. A snow job.

When I still had to shovel, I used a brush broom instead. In time. Otherwise, shoveling would have been unavoidable.
Resulting in brushing at 4 a.m. – like the neighbor next door. Good laughs guaranteed.

Amanda, don’t you know to bend the knee before lifting a shovelful?

I’ll be doing same sometime today. Ouch.

And keep not only your back, but preferably your chest warm – especially if you have any heart conditions.

When we moved into our 55+ neighborhood, we had the option of a heated driveway. We have never regretted saying yes to that option.

It’s a mysterious leverage thing. Sometimes leaning just a few degrees can do it.

Ouch! I know how you feel; although in my case – it just happens now, for no good reason. :-(
