I much rather listen to Abba’s singing than Andy’s.

I notice that Andy and Flo don’t fight anymore. In some of the older strips both of them would be doing their best to pound the other in a big fight bubble.

On a recent Andy Capp strip, I mentioned Compo Simmonite in Last of the Summer Wine and his similarities with Andy including the fact that they were both World War II veterans who remained wilfully unemployed after the war. I added that the main difference is that Compo’s wife left him permanently and that that was either during the war or soon afterwards.

Last week, I watched an episode of Last of the Summer Wine on Freeview Channel 20 which dated the departure of Compo’s wife to 1947.

Susan00100 read Red and Rover for several weeks after someone recommended it to her and I endorsed the recommendation stating that Calvin and Hobbes and Andy Capp are my two favourite strips with Red and Rover and The Wizard of Id as contenders for third place.

Susan has stopped reading the strip. Before she stopped, she said that she wished there were more regular characters in it rather than just Red and Rover. I replied that we sometimes see Rover with two other dogs rather than with Red. I mentioned that one of the two dogs is called Zeke. These two dogs appear with Rover in today’s strip. The other dog is called Reuben.

Surprising that nobody dumped a (purple) bucket of water on that bum’s head!!

She finally got smart!!! If you love someone or not, you don’t allow them to “use” you!!

Flo has left the building.

Perfect, she leaves. She pays all the bills anyway. So now Andy must get a job or go homeless. Perfectly beautiful.

Lord help us if Andy ever fronts for Guitar Bob!

She should have done that years ago. Saved herself a lot of pain and anger. He’s worthless.

Oooh. I wonder what the back story is? I know Andy has come in drunk and is singing (badly) at the top of his voice. Has Flo just finally had enough?

On another note, I am currently at the carvery and have just enjoyed a lovely meal. Ordering dessert soon.
