Do you guys remember that awful woman back in 2009 (Celine?) who would post on this board who said Gene should never have gotten invovled with a single mom? I think Gene is doing okay and couldn’t be happier. He seems quite pleased to be a daddy (via proxy). I couldn’t be happy happier for a cartoon!
The puzzling look on his lady’s face in the last panel is perfect. She has no idea what he means. Her mind is visibly boggling as there are both negative and positive possibilities.
Not to throw cold water on these feelings (which I’m loving) but I wonder if Meg’s biological father will ever show up? He’s been mentioned once during the storyline when Gene re-connected w/ ML and learned she was pregnant. But that was 6, 7 years ago (A&J-time, over 13-years ago in real-time).
My oldest only ever called me “Dad” once, but all my other kids call me Dad/Daddy except for my [current] youngest (if my wife gets her wish, that will change) who calls me “Daddo”

Did I miss something? Is “Daddy” the name they decided to call him, instead of “Pop” ?

Do guys still hand out cigars? (We passed out bubble-gum cigars for a laugh, but I haven’t seen them in years.)
BillWa about 13 years ago
It takes about seven minutes to be a father, it takes work to be a daddy. Go Gene! BTW, keep away from the cigars, bad for you.
