I’d hate to see her panic in the face of actual natural disasters like hurricane prep and wildfire prep. Sheesh! Unless they’re facing a blizzard, I don’t see why she’s panicking over a cold snap.

Don’t worry Janis, the big, strong hubby won’t let the boogieman get you. We’ll go to bed early and turn the heat blanket up a notch. (Snicker)

What? They’ve moved to Alaska? “The coldest night so far” probably is only 2 to 10 degrees colder than the last “coldest night”. Yes, it can get cold where they live and sometimes drop 50 degrees or more in one night (that’s when its in the 60’s during the day) but it’s December and it’s already been cold. Unless they have done absolutely nothing up to now, there’s no need for any thing special to be done. Arlo’s suggestions are good.

I’ve been hearing reports that it’s going to be a bad winter. We had our second snowfall of the season in New Jersey last night. And it’s not even freakin’ winter yet!

As the late great Uncle Jerry said: “If we’re going to hell in a bucket, baby/At least I’m enjoying the ride.” That seems to be the Arlo way.

Do the same things you do every winter when it gets really cold. Why wouldn’t she know that?

It is funny how (at least in the presumed context) Janis is pretty freaked out about the “coldest” when it is perhaps at worst, twenty degrees cooler than what they have already experienced this season. And in their region, it means perhaps it will be 10 degrees F?

I am not sure if it is more of a Southern thing or not to be that worried about the cold. Up here in the very Northern US, people do not start getting concerned about the cold until it is probably in the -10 to -20 degree temps, because then many engines start to have some potential challenges in starting.

I’m with Arlo. Maybe a big bowl of popcorn as well.
