Dozing off is not the same as a good power nap. You need to get to R.E.M. stage. Not the band, anticipating the snark. :)

The only thing worse than the nod nap is getting up to go take a nap and then being unable to go to sleep.

A guy I used to work with at the local TV station cracked up the entire news crew one night years ago. During a commercial break he was telling us over the headset, “I was editing a sports promo today, and the next thing I knew, I woke up with my head lying on the keyboard. I don’t know what my problem is.” Trying to be helpful, I asked, “Narcolepsy?” He didn’t miss a beat. “No, I just fall asleep a lot!” :-D

I kind of like the short dozing off thing. But those two hour naps make me feel like hell.

It’s only a nap if you’ve planned it.

I read in bed as the wife is watching tv at bedtime. Many a time, I rest my eyes, but I’m not sleeping….

Naps are intentional, falling asleep is accidental (during daylight anyway).

A nap is a snooze…being asleep is snoozing?

I tell myself that, too. My wife doesn’t believe it, either.

Happens to me at least once a day. Being retired mean no schedule. I can do whatever I want, get up late, go to sleep late, whatever.

It’s a nap if you fall asleep and it’s not bedtime.

I don’t take a nap in my recliner every day at about the same time, for about 45 minutes.

Dozing off in church is not napping unless you’re horizontal. Or as we joke in my church, if we laid down end-to-end all the older guys who doze off each Sunday, they’d be a lot more comfortable!
