Thanks for all the comments. I’ve had my share of suckin’ heads and poppin’ tails. Had my share of steamed mussels fresh off the rocks up here on The Lost Coast of CA. But, will someone explain the panda?
This brings back a childhood memory. We were at my maternal Grandpa’s house for dinner one night and he served shrimp cocktail to us before the meal and I had only ever seen it on Tv with rich people eating it so that is what I thought it was- a rich person food. Well, Grandpa also was our landlord for the house we lived in, so I whispered to my Mom that we had a rich landlord because he was serving shrimp cocktails. She bursted out laughing so then she had to tell everyone what I said and they started laughing while I was sitting there confused so Mom explained to me that shrimp cocktail isn’t a rich person only food. I actually liked it but now I only like shrimp if it is breaded or seasoned. I’m thinking I was about 9 or 10 when this happened.

I had to look up “low-country boil”. Found lots of recipes but not exactly a definition. This came closest, from bakedbree.com:
Lowcountry boil is a one-pot meal that features an array of seafood, sausage, corn, potatoes and Old Bay seasoning boiled in a spicy stock.

Unroll a big piece of wrapping paper over the coffee table before dumping the boil onto it. Just like at a crab house.

Why the prominent placement of a random panda bear?

Alton Brown did an episode of Good Eats early on in the series devoted to shrimp cocktail, but he broiled the shrimp.

The wife is allergic to seafood, I might try this with chunks of chicken instead.

That was close but we got rid of the Coffee table. It only served as a buffet the the Aussi. Very fast when you weren’t watching.
