You know how a pound of butter has markings for 1/4, 1/4, 1/2 cup? My wife made some brownies one time that just wouldn’t seem to cook properly…she had cut the butter at the 1/2 cup line and so, ended up with 1 cup of butter in the brownies.

1987? That was over half a lifetime ago for me and many readers won’t remember it at all. Back in 1987, Germany was still divided into East and West and the city of Berlin was still divided by the Berlin Wall. Nelson Mandela was still imprisoned by the South African government which still practiced apartheid which was a Dutch word for racial segregation. Maggie Thatcher had her third General Election victory in the UK and became the longest serving British Prime Minister of the twentieth century. Ronald Reagan was coming to the end of his second term as President would be replaced by George Bush who would only serve one term. His son George W. Bush would serve two terms as President but not until after two terms by Bill Clinton who defeated George Bush in the 1992 Presidential Election.

My 1st life…..

I remember the easy bake oven. Jay Dean and Sally Ray had one back in the day. We made biscuits with flour and water. They weren’t really all that great, but with a little butter and honey I ate my share.

I didn’t think Easy Bake ovens took that long to bake.

I think you put too much weed in those brownies.

Imagine trying to use today’s LED bulbs in the oven.

Those brownies are greenies now.

I didn’t have an easy bake oven for brownies, but I did have a Pizza Hut one back in the late 70’s. It always came out terrible.

Are those the same kind you get in a dispensary?

My mom wouldn’t let us have an easy bake oven. She said if we wanted to make something we should use the kitchen oven and make enough for the whole family. So we did. We all learned to bake and cook before age 8.
