I know better than to look up my symptoms online. I do look up all my new meds since I don’t have a current nurse’s drug guide. That’s a more useful book than a PDR. The PDR is just a collection of all the package inserts of the meds in it. Companies pay to be in the PDR. A nurse’s drug guide is more objective with easier to understand explanations. Mind you, it is still in some medical language, but not heavily so, and certainly not in pharmacology technobabble. It’s also more affordable than a PDR, much more. I got mine at Barnes & Noble.
As my wife tells her patients: “Go to Web MD, look up your symptoms, decide what rare disease it is you are dying of and then grab a cup of coffee and give me a call and we can have a good laugh.”
Looks like you’re off to the local walmart for a day of shopping and airconditioning. I spend a lot of time looking a electronics and sporting goods when the temperature start getting over 90 outside.
If I have symptoms I want to look up I use Mayo Clinic but when I want to know about any new drugs I get I will look it up on WebMD or sometimes Mayo Clinic.

Good enough. I’ve googled them one day and I’ve discovered I was dead already.
