Nancy thinks that she’s imagining it. But she subliminally senses the sound of “Bolero”. She has no idea why she thinks it may not be an encounter with a predatory animal after all. At least, not a non-human one.

Not to be a stickler about it, but Nancy isn’t really knitting, not holding the needles that way.

And I know she comes to meetings of the Ballard Knit Wits and Prune Pitters International meetings just for the gossip.

She has been “working” on that sock for 3 years now.

AND just as the predator pounces, Nancy stabs him with her needle. Makes it more realistic that way.
