Actually, this is not late here in Michigan. It is illegal for schools to start prior to the end of the Labor day weekend and not all of them start that first Tues. afterwards.

When “Back To School” ads started coming on, my daughters started cheering. They’re SO glad to be back!

What makes you think they all get paid for that time off? I know a public school cafeteria worker who has to go on unemployment each summer.

In San Jose, California, I started 8th grade on my birthday, Sept 14. Sheesh… lighten up!

i used to love school. it got me away from the child slavery of farm life for at least a few hours a day.

After reading all the comments, my favourite line is “a slight variance in a temporal anomaly may occur”..It appears may provinces, states, and countries set their own dates as to when school starts. I wonder what everyone thinks about the school start dates in countries that lie south of the equator? (Australia? New Zealand? Chile? South Africa?)

Schools in my area started this week. Big deal if he’s off by a week. Judgmental much?
