I can see by your outfit that you are a cowboy. You can see by my outfit that I’m a cowboy too.You can see by our outfits that we are both cowboys. If you buy an outfit, you can be a cowboy too! (I wonder if they sell fungi suits?)
The “morel” of this s’hroom story is they don’t take no “shitake” from anyone, and, seem to be “inchanterreled” with each other. After a brief meeting they adjourned with no “truffle” at all.
I’m nobody! Who are you?Are you nobody, too? Then there’s a pair of us — don’t tell! They’d banish — you know!.How dreary to be somebody! How public like a frogTo tell one’s name the livelong dayTo an admiring bog! Emily Dickinson..Poor little mushroomsAnd then there’s their cousin the truffles.
Hmm, no comments about how the Latin pronounciation is actually “funJ-eye.” But we can let that go, since in proper “borrowed” form, multiple ways are acceptable. However, if all those mushrooms are popping up so close to one another, they must be from a single mycelium, so even together they’re still “fungus.”Then again, to be able to produce mushrooms at all, the mycelium has to be dikaryotic, so it’s plural after all. But that still results in probably just one “guy,” right?

I like mushrooms cooked in butter to go with steaks.

How fitting for a comic about pre-historic times…. a joke that’s almost as old as time itself.

“We’re all fungis”?
Shouldn’t they refer to themselves in the plural as fung-US?
