How fitting for a comic about pre-historic times…. a joke that’s almost as old as time itself.

Fungus, plural fungi. Fungis? Nope.

The “morel” of this s’hroom story is they don’t take no “shitake” from anyone,and, seem to be “inchanterreled” with each other. After a brief meeting they adjourned with no “truffle” at all.

Hmm, no comments about how the Latin pronounciation is actually “funJ-eye.” But we can let that go, since in proper “borrowed” form, multiple ways are acceptable.However, if all those mushrooms are popping up so close to one another, they must be from a single mycelium, so even together they’re still “fungus.”Then again, to be able to produce mushrooms at all, the mycelium has to be dikaryotic, so it’s plural after all. But that still results in probably just one “guy,” right?
