I’m thinking if you’re only riding on one wheel, you’re still going to fall over when you hit it.

In or out, they’ll still brake the axle if you drive very fast.

It’s more like a curb to curb pot hole.

What’s funny is that I’ve seen inverted speed bumps like that. Mmm, been decades… Neptune NJ, industrial park off Rt 66. Caught my eye as it was odd, and I can only imagine the fun in the winter.

Between the potholes and the frost heaves here in northernmost Maine, we don’t need speed bumps….just suspension work on our vehicles every few years.

Driving in Mexico I learned that speed bumps are “Topes” and the dips (as shown in the comic) are “Vados” – either of them can demolish your vehicle if abused.

A bunch of roads in Oklahoma used dips to slow traffic. They also doubled as ditches after a heavy rain.

That is the problem with speed bumps – they are supposed to make you slow down to a safe speed, not make you stop and slowly climb your car over them, to keep from tearing the suspension out of the car.

Nice idea. Has various advantages. More effective at deterring speeding. First responders and police could have little 2 tire width wide fillers to get the follow on fire trucks and resque vehicles thru at posted speed without any slowing needed to crawl over the BUMP. City maintenance could have full width fillers and post a guard to maintain the proper speed is maintained so they can get in and out for major street repairs in the area.
