    Yep.

When chairs start breaking out from under you?

    That’s a CLEAR “wake-up call.” ;)

Aw. Isn’t that nice. You are loved. (I never thought of walruses as being cuddly before.)

My wake up call came when my wife and daughter snapped a photo of me while napping on the couch. Their subsequent snickering and relentless barbs hurled my way with regards to the mountain my stomach had become immediately had me make my way to our basement and the home gym to start working out. Got to admit even I was shocked by the picture.

You know you’ve put on weight when you use your belly instead of the table to put your plate on.

When I got to be middle aged, my feet started to “disappear below the horizon.”

Know what I hate MOST about losing weight? It takes watching what you eat and exercise. . .

A friend’s two-year-old daughter walked up to me, put her hand on my stomach and said “Baby!” I was underweight most of my life and developed habits to gain weight. Now that my metabolism has changed I’m finding those habits very hard to break.

Sort of reminds me of “Meet the Feebles”. In all the wrong ways.

The real shock came when you looked in the mirror and saw your oldest look-a-like relative staring back at you. You know, the one you used to call old, not hip, out of it. Welcome to real life, pal. Payback is awesome.

For me it was 9 days in the hospital with blood clots in the lungs. Unfortunately it is still easier to gain it than it is to loose it.
