The bag of turkey I bought yesterday for our Christmas dinner has bumps where the legs are and smaller bumps where the wings are but no bumps where a head should be. I’m good to go, no worries about the big sad eyes.
My Dad worked on a turkey farm as a teenager. One day a local rabbi came to buy a bird. Stan, the owner, put a turkey on the scale. It deposited some droppings, so the rabbi brushed them off. Stan promptly returned them to the scale, saying, “It was there when you bought it, it’s there when you pay!”.
i quit eating meat decades ago…never met an animal i didn’t like, or who didn’t like me…on two occasions i have had wild skunks walk up to me and let me pet them, one was a mom with 3 kits

Personally I think saltines or triscuits with a little jack cheese and chutney sounds VERY Christmassy.

Who’s the most important bird this country ever knew?
Do you know what turkey I have reference to?
Well, it isn’t Mr. Pig, and it isn’t Mr. Cow.
I’ve got a hunch that to that bunch I’m going to introduce:
(Again you’re wrong and to this throng I’m going to Introduce:)
Barney Google, with the goo-goo-goo-ga-ly eyes.
Barney Google bet his horse would win the prize.
When the horses ran that day, Spark Plug ran the other way.
Barney Google, with the goo-goo-goo-ga-ly eyes.

This was long before the invention of the butcher store, and later the supermarket.
