Bleak, but that is the sad truth

While we all called the final punchline, I actually really like the bleak joke, so that gets points for getting a chuckle outta me!

7\10. A very okay arc, with arguably squandered potential, seeing as most of the jokes were either okay or same old. Idk, feel like we’ve had similar arcs that seemed to try a bit more with this. It’s not bad, but it’s nothing special.

final 2 arcs of the year coming, hopefully they’re good!

I am glad that is the end of the arc, that was a boring and disappointing arc, I hope next week arc will be better

Nate’s Afterlife: His ex-girlfriends, “Cat’s” (the movie) on endless loop, and meows echoing everywhere. Oh, and that hair don’t of his!

….it’s a ‘lil more expansive than that, Nate: kids get an assignment, some tackle the assignment in some “rather lay down and take yet another nap” way, some get an "F’. Also bleak.

7/10, obviously Nate would do that! But their bodies don’t turn into dust, that’s the Blip. I like how Ms. Clark doesn’t look annoyed when she reads what Nate wrote.

I usually find myself at odds with Nate, but in this case he’s bang-on. Plus dark humour is the best.

By the way, for those interested in the Big Nate: First Class that used to appear here at GoComics, it may return. A poster on another site who inquired about the elimination of another set of classic strips got this reply (which is more informative than any other I’ve heard):

“Due to upcoming changes that will be made to the way GoComics manages archived content, this and several other “Classic” features will cease being updated until the new GoComics site is deployed, expected early in 2024."

“While it may not available (for now), it will be back. As mentioned, some BIG changes to the way that we store and manage files is being done, in preparation for the new version of the site which will launch early next year. This is only temporary so as to make things easier for the creators that update those features.”
