Of course. After all, all dogs go to heaven.

A dog can be your “spiritual guide” right now here in this life.

I read where that was 12 year-old single malt scotch.

Say “no”. That sort of thinking can lead to someone wanting to “take my dog with me”. Being dead will be just like it was before you were born; you don’t need a guide.

If they do, he’s not going to tell you!

You’re asking the wrong spiritual guide — talk to the tree!

“If dogs ain’t there, how can they call it Heaven?” Some kid in a class at a parochial school.

His response “yes, that’s true, they did believe that”

Wait until the leaves come on the tree (spring – or never) because you’ll get no vocal answer from the dog!

According to wagging tails, beliefs,and traditions, it could be true!

A lot of sources on the web say it is true.

I don’t know whether it’s true that dogs are our spiritual guides, but they do make us a little more humane.

But. Wouldn’t the dog have to be dead?

The ancient Egyptians believed similar things about cats.

Yes, absolutely true.

You must be thinking of cats. Dogs are pack animals who follow the strongest.

No, not dogs. Crows, certainly, and often Coyote, but take his advice warily.

That tail wag says, “I just LOVE it when you talk to me, whatever it is you’re saying. Keep going…!”

This conversation reminds me so much of the Twilight Zone episode “The Hunt” with Arthur Hunnicutt and Jeanette Nolan. It’s always been one of my favorite episodes — about an old man and his beloved hunting dog, Rip. You can watch it online.

Dogs have an excellent sense of direction, Why not? Do I get a doggie treat or not?……
