Squirrel smarter than you thought?

I so much prefer these dog-cat-squirrel Bliss comics over ones like the zombies from a couple of days ago.

The squirrel is trying and trying to cross the road to get there. Back and forth, back and forth, just not feeling safe yet, trying again.

Anyone know of a dog ever actually catching the squirrel?
