While waiting in line for check-in, he observed the man in front giving a hard time to the ticket agent, who did his best to retain his composure. When the traveler finally left, the pastor stepped up to the counter and said: “I’m sorry to se you having to go through that.” To which the agent replied: “Oh, that’s OK sir. Some people just don’t know what they think they know. For instance, that man doesn’t know that, although he is going to Hawaii, his luggage is going to New York.”
On at least two occasions, my luggage arrived on a later flight. Both times, the airline delivered it to my door the next day. Better than an extra 120 mile round trip to pick it up.
On another flight, I put my jacket in an overhead bin, and my checkbook fell out of the pocket. The airline found it, contacted me, and mailed it to me.
Print out you name and address and contact info on an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper and make enough copies to put one in every bag and maybe in a secret place in the bag as well and update all your tags or at least check before each trip. I haven’t had use for one yet, but a colleague did and she found her bags waiting for her at home after she spent a week on the road.

A pastor told this story once…
While waiting in line for check-in, he observed the man in front giving a hard time to the ticket agent, who did his best to retain his composure. When the traveler finally left, the pastor stepped up to the counter and said: “I’m sorry to se you having to go through that.” To which the agent replied: “Oh, that’s OK sir. And by the way, those TSA locks you used didn’t make the whole trip.

On a slightly more positive note…
On at least two occasions, my luggage arrived on a later flight. Both times, the airline delivered it to my door the next day. Better than an extra 120 mile round trip to pick it up.
On another flight, I put my jacket in an overhead bin, and my checkbook fell out of the pocket. The airline found it, contacted me, and mailed it to me.

The bad news is, we have to charge you for all that extra flying your luggage did without you.

Don’t you just hate it when your luggage has a better vacation than you do?

Had a briefcase checked in as luggage, it was returned to me with a hole in it that I could stick my arm in. They offered me $10 compensation.
