    1 Didn’t he notice? She’s already got a clock.

    2 Mmm boy! Christmas beans.

3 I’d say a technical fowl, but Santa never did take to the field.

    3. The Hail Mary pass is okay, but the Super Santa pass is a winner everytime. I noticed the little lines above Bozo’s eye, I assume thats a wink to Santa from Bozo. Maybe the umbrella guy is a ref.

So…. as a newbie to this comic, I would like to ask:

    1. I am presuming Bozo is the cigar-chomping character, correct?

    2. The cigar-chomping fellow is either a) a young kid, or b) a very short adult. I am presuming because folks do not give any sort of notice to his cigar, that he must be a very short adult.

    3. Is there a “backstory” about this character? I tried to look up history of the comic online, but there was not much I could locate… especially about the characters.

Thanks for your interest in Bozo. The “About” at the top of this page will tell all about “Bozo” and Foxo. Bozo is a short adult. My Dad, Foxo, described Bozo as “a nobody.” He created him in 1921, when Foxo was only 16 and was just beginning his career as a professional cartoonist. “Bozo” was the first sustained and successful pantomime comic strip. “Bozo” appeared in the Richmond Times-Dispatch weekly from at least 1925 until it was internationally syndicated by the Chicago Sun-Times in 1945.
