I’m sure Dr. Mel can use the Dalek as is. Rosie and Oldbot would also make a nice couple. I’d also like to hear what Tom Servo and Crow would have to say.
Let me see, staring from the left:
C3PO & R2D2, Dalek, (don’t remember the name) robot from Futurama, Rockem Sockem robot, Lost in Space Robot, the two bots from that show with the three idiots talking all though the movie, Rosie, I thought that was Mac, Rosie’s boy friend, but someone called it coat-bucket-head, Wall-E, Robbie, robot from “Metropolis” (1927), robot from “The Day the Earth Stood Still”.
Think I got them all.
You missed the names Bender, Crow T. Robot, Tom Servo, Bucky (how could you miss the strip’s own “robot” created by Cliff?), Maria, and Gort. And you totally missed Gorbot, who is the entering robot! Consider yourself chastised.
Awesome lineup, Tim.
Tim! Tim! Get some help! I’ve never seen such a suicidal invitation to death-by-lawsuit (unless it would be to include a Disney character). Didn’t you get into trouble once already with MGM and Robbie the Robot?
But a great strip. Keep up the good work until they come to take you away.
in defense of MST3K, those guys were not ‘idiots talking during the movie”—those bad- - - very, very bad movies were made hilarious by the their comments ….the comments were the whole purpose of the show
incidentally, I challenge anyone to come up with a worse movie of all time than “Manos, the Hand of Fate”
this movie makes ‘plan 9 from outer space’ look like an oscar winner
Oh, it’s a Rock’em Sock’em Robot. No wonder I didn’t recognize it! Got all the others though.
But I agree with some of those who got here earlier than I did. Number 5 from Short Circuit and V.I.N.Cent. and Maximilian from The Black Hole would have rounded things out nicely. Curse the limitations of small comic strips. (A Cylon would have been nice, too!)
“Black Hole” was a Disney movie. As I implied in my earlier comment, using a Disney character, even a robot, is the third-rail of cartooning. Disney’s lawyers are kept chained until released. It is a bold and daring cartoonist who will draw as much as one ear or one shoe of Mickey Mouse.
(Speaking of Cylons, the Syfy Channel show “Caprica”, the prequel of the remade “Battlestar Galactica”, is off to a brilliant start. I’m particularly impressed with how they are explaining how robots could become monotheists. But I’m concerned that the battle is going to be between monotheists and polytheists, leaving no place for us atheists. Great show, though.)
Perhaps the waiting room scene continues in next Sunday’s strip …
… then Tim can fit in all the ones everone else mentioned, plus Huey, Dewey and Louie from Silent Running; Calculon, Hedismbot and Robot Devil, Santa and Mafia characters from Futurama; the various Terminators; and the blue Rockem Sockem Robot!
C3-PO, R2D2, Tom Servo, Crow, Bender Bending Rodriguez, Rosie, Rock-em-Sock-em Robot, some robot from Lost in Space, I am sure some Battlestar Galactica robots, Wall-E.
LOL!!! (Also missing are Huey, Dewey, and Louie from “Silent Running.” ) (The robot from “Metropolis” is a duplicate of the heroine Maria, commonly called “Black Maria,” though the name is never actually used in the movie.)

Well, technically the Dalek isn’t a robot, there’s a Dalek inside that machine.

I was looking for the robot in Short Circuit. But you can’t get every robot in there, can you? Nice to see some of the old ones.

Tim Rickard, Brewster’s creator here. I haven’t seen anyone name every robot in the strip yet. Any takers?

Great work Tim.

cdward was looking for the Short Circuit robot. The WALL-E robot is similar enough, perhaps it is from the same family line.
The colorist didn’t properly color Bender, so I didn’t see him at first.

Tim, you excluded the most awesomest robot in movie history, ED-209. I was just thinking about ED the other day…
