It was a hard time to be a comic back then. EVERYONE saw stuff in black and white.

That act would make anything following it seem funny in comparison.
The actual warm-up act was Edward Everett , considered the greatest orator of the day. He spoke for two hours before ceding the podium to Lincoln.
The world will little note, nor long remember anything that Brewster says.
Brewster has been watching Seinfeld reruns.
It’s just the costuming. That crowd will have a problem with anybody who’s not wearing a top hat.

I think I had some of that left-over Hot Air Balloon food on a flight to Bozeman last week.
As I recall, they used GAS balloons for artillery spotting during the American Civil War. Hot air? Dunno.
The worst thing about hot air balloon food is when they bring the drink cart around.
