Gee, I wonder why the close box is too small to press? Guess we’ll never know!

Will they solve this problem? Will they finger it out?

I find the same problem when using the smartphone. That’s why I sometimes remember I have many styluses at the ready.

There’s a brand of cars with the taillights being red squares with a clear “x” inside (for the backup light I guess). When I get stuck behind one I wish I could click on that X and make the car disappear!

In ten years we will all be wondering what the fuss was about mobile devices.

I had a bad cut on my thumb that required a stitch or two, but didn’t realize at the time I needed, so I let it heal without. It healded to a firm fold that I use to accurately press on my small text bar today. I wondered if folks would pay for this procedure on their fingers to increase their accuracy on pressing smaller icons on the phone??? I know it sounds silly. Future of fingers with weird small lumpy tips. But I feel some phone addicts (who I see every day) would greatly appreciate this minor “upgrade” on their digits.

Or maybe the brain will evolve so the person doesn’t deal with ads or apps and sites that use them.

One suggestion might be to take a long pin and use that to hit the “x”.

Deja vu – this came up on a discussion board, for a group to which I belong, last night. Solutions: (1) use a lap top or PC for surfing the internet and not a phone and (2) expand the screen picture so that the “x” is bigger and thus easier to select. You’re welcome.

Someone at Amiga invented the Single Pixel “Selection Box” way back in 1986.

It was used in the “Easter Egg” they hid in the Kickstart code for the computer.

If you booted up the computer while holding down 3 specific keys, a message would pop up on the screen reading: “The Amiga: We made it Great”.

If you continued to hold down while a friend ejected the OS disk from the Floppy disk drive and inserted a different disc, the message changed to: “But Commodore Fncked it up!”

Once the computer had been booted using this sequence, there were several other messages that could be displayed by Clicking on a series of Hidden Icons on the screen.

About half of those “Hidden Icons” were only a single Pixel in size and the same color as the surrounding pixels. It took a LOT of persistence to find them, even with Detailed instructions on where they were located. Positioning the Mouse Pointer that precisely is very difficult.

There’s another possible evolutionary path they’re overlooking: Frustrated users throwing their phones violently against a wall could cause the evolution of stronger, tougher cell phones.
