We used to get dispatched that way when I was working – "What do you mean, you can’t get there in three minutes. The zip codes are right next to each other. It’s only two miles from you. It’s a different state? There is a river in between? Isn’t there a bridge? (drive time -45 minutes one way to the bridge)
A friend of mine did a year as a grad student in Chapel Hill. She thought she could go to Alaska for the weekend. I said, “Yes, you can, if you fly.” No, she meant to take the bus. She couldn’t seem to realise there was half the globe between the two points!
I always thought Calvin and his parents lived in a big city and now we find that they live in a small town on the Canadian border in the state of Washington. Maybe Sumas.
You might think… but california takes 40 times it’s size to make it as big as America. California is HUGE, but compared to all the continents, it’s nothing but an ant, sooooooo, it would probably take 1 day in a car to reach Yukon, you don’t even know how to drive! I hope you don’t go to Yukon in Canada, that would be farther…

Get one of those globes the size of a ping-pong ball, it’ll take even less time.

“Captain Maim”. My curiosity is piqued with Calvin’s choice of comic books. Though, maybe it’s best that I tread lightly when it comes to that one!

Technically the Yukon is directly adjacent to the United States. (Alaska.)

Hobbes is obviously just trolling Calvin, who I’m sure just took it hook, line, and sinker!

My uncle drives from Florida to Alaska and back again every year for his vacation. He loves the drive as much as the fishing in Alaska.

Follow the ALCAN north. Drive to the edge of the world, then hang a right.
