Oh, how much money digital cameras have saved on photos gone wrong.

I bet this comic makes little sense in black and white.

The first picture doesn’t look THAT bad.

Funny in 1989 and still funny 30 years later!

I’ll bet Calvin will do the same with school photos.

the colors just click, don’t they.

These days, who still uses one-hour developer photography at your Rite-Aid or elsewhere that predates digital photography?

Phone cameras have made things so much easier.

Calvin, today Dad would just photo shopped you if you did that.

If this was today, he would have made some reference to begin decompiled into 1’s and 0’s and he would need to find a reliable program to fix the issue. definitely not as funny using today’s references

Color negative Film? What’s that? Never heard of it… Wait… I’m almost remembering… Boy it’s been a long time!

Today we have millions of photos taken, but never viewed, stored on misplaced memory cards or arcane locations on sprawling hard drives. Then, the photos came back from the developer and went into albums. Viewing the albums was a fun thing to do when friends or relatives came over or just when there was a lull. And yes, the screwballs, blinks and all that may have “ruined” the moment, but they also preserved a time period I’d reclaim if I could. Photos then had value. Today, we delete them.

I once told my two Calvins, “Pretend you like each other.”

Dad must spend a fortune on film.

Dad never learned the secret of taking a picture of Calvin…click the shutter on “2” of an announced 3 count…

If he wanted a photo of Calvin that would be believable and bring great relief tot he relatives, a straight-jacket and anti-bite mask would likely be involved…

Commercial film and print processing totally sucked.

So now they hit your wallet up front for anything you might save shooting digital. My first pro model Nikon F film camera cost me around $400 with a lens. The current top pro digital model Nikon, the D5 is about $6500.

Photography has evolved so much over the last 100 years. Unfortunately, people have not.

I have an whole stack of SDHD cards waiting to be developed, but I can’t find a one-hour photo store any more.

I still see people sending film in to be developed. Time to get out of the dark ages now

Need any more evidence that C&H was the apex of comic strips? Who else could have dreamed this up but Bill Watterson. He could have done a strip about the gravel in my driveway and it would have been great.

Wouldn’t yellow flowers become purple? Primary colors would become the combination of the other two primaries for their complimentary color, right?

And for anyone who ever shot Ektachrome™ infrared, all the colors were shifted up by a third of an octave – IR became red, red became green, and green became blue. You had to use a minus blue filter because of the way the film was set up. I think I’ve still got some of the slides I took – Ektachrome was a slide film, and you could process it at home with an E-5 kit.. Oh, the memories….

It’s NOT Opposites, if you turn on invert, it won’t be regular.

If you invert the image, it is not a negative of the original colors.
