Dad at the office: “Sorry I’m late fellas; I just murdered my brat. Now, excuse me—I gotta call a good defense attorney. Maybe Perry Mason, if I could afford his fee.”
“I’ll get Mom to drive us both to work, Calvin. You’ll be over my knee and I’ll be in the back seat spanking you. Mom will then drive you home with you on your sore butt. But your butt will be much sorer tonight when I return home to continue the spanking.”
When I was about 4-5, I pulled a dumb stunt like Calvin’s. After swift, sure and um, memorable chastisement my dad told me, “Your mom and I brought you into this world; I’ll take you out and me and your mom will make another one that looks just like you.” At that age I wasn’t sure that meant exactly, but the idea and his tone of voice scared the bejeebers out of me. And it was a long time before I threw rocks at passing cars again…
It was neither offensive nor hateful. It’s simply a person with no tact. The world is full of them now and the internet has allowed them a large playground. They are lesser humans because all they have is negativity. Ignore them and they go away because they seek attention. ANY attention. Don’t move the rock and they will eventually disappear.
Calvin set up a rubber hose shower trap and turned it on when his father walked by the tree! His father managed to grab Calvin, and Calvin’s last hope to avoid a spanking is to remind his father not to miss his bus!
I usually like reading the comments, especially if there is a punnster or three cracking wise. I come here to obtain joy, something I’ve done for over 50 years. More and more, I’ve seen hate and vitriol spread across the comments. People, when did we become a nation of haters?
A bible thumper. Can you also quote the constitution and and other important documents. The bible was written as a morality play to teach Jews lessons. It sure can’t be taken literally. Or do you believe every word?

Possible reply from Dad to Calvin:
“I’ll get Mom to drive us both to work, Calvin. You’ll be over my knee and I’ll be in the back seat spanking you. Mom will then drive you home with you on your sore butt. But your butt will be much sorer tonight when I return home to continue the spanking.”

This shows great ingenuity. Calvin has potential as an engineer … if he can survive grade school.

I wonder if his parents were anything like this when they were young. Did their parents often say to them, “I hope you get a child just like you!”

Okay. I’m pretty sure I would do that. Well, perhaps I would if I could run just a little bit faster than my …target.
