Iâm going to take a wild guess here, go out on a limb, so to speak, and suggest those exhortations of Calvinâs soul are more likely than not quite scrutable. Unless, of course, if Susie Derkins happens to like frogs.
âInscrutable exhortations of my soul.â Does Miss Wormwood know that Calvin is a word smith? Perhaps it doesnât matter since he is rude and insolent. Modern day Hemingway.
One of my favorite quotes. The first time I read this, I assumed it was by some famous, deep philosopher. I guess thatâs what Bill is at the end of the day!
Cal is 6. But gotta admit the impulse to look for living things in our flower beds can hit hard this time of year. Just like to see them and know they and the birds are there and still following their natural paths. I was once six but that was 83 years ago. Guess the âsecond childhoodâ thing sometimes re-infects.
Todayâs strip reminds me of the Red and Rover strips in which they go searching for Moby Bullfrog. They originally searched for Moby Tadpole but later realised he would have grown into a bullfrog so they started searching for Moby Bullfrog.

The frogs would be in the water waiting for you to leave so they can come back out on the shore safely.
