Agreed on the first panel. If clawing my eyes out would help, I would.

Even though this strip is pretty old, people still wear the bad “outdoorsy” outfits. I agree with her. Why must the clothes broadcast our age??? I think it’s because people want to show off their “assets”. lol

Good morning all. I have to admit some of my outfits in my younger years are pretty embarrassing now. lol

Ok, if she is 40 here and these strips are approximately 10 years ago….I told you she was too old to have a baby when they ended the strip!

She was too old even before that, summerdog. When Andrea got married in…‘87? ’88? they were already over 30. Cathy’s pushing 60 at this point, but it drives me nuts to think about it so I just don’t. :)

Unfortunately, people of Cathy’s body type often reveal way too much. Check out peopleofwalmart.com if you’ve never seen it. Hilarious and frightening. Put on the jacket with the outfit in panel 3 and own your age, girl! Greetings, Cathy Clan!

I’d love to wear some of the clothes I wore in my thirties and forties – I’ve still got most of them. But the colours are fresh and bright – which would make me look even more grey and faded than usual, I’m afraid! So I’ll have to leave them in the cupboard.

I clearly don’t understand either “elegant” or “outdoorsy” because I would never classify any of those outfits as such. And I’m still in my 20’s, if that makes a difference.

For those obsessed about Cathy’s age, comic strip time is far more elastic than time in reality. If it wasn’t, Charlie Brown would have grown up, married the little red-haired girl, had a dysfunctional family of his own, their kids would have grown up and had children, and Charlie Brown would have aged appropriately and died a long time ago. Thankfully, comic strip characters live in an alternate dimension and thus their age, and plot lines, aren’t bound by our reality. Of course, all this is obvious and comic strip readers “know” it, yet some still persist in insisting that time be consistent in both dimensions. Which is kinda silly, don’t ya think? ;-)

Good Afternoon fellow Cathy nuts!! These outfits are a blast from the past…not mine fortunately…cause I would not go anywhere in a sequined bra, or bustier. She is getting closer to what would be appropriate attire however….there is still the question of what will Irving wear?

Whoa! I’m glad I was too tired when I got home this a.m. to read the comics. Not enough brain bleach on Earth to get panel 1 image out of my mind. I’ll have to warn Billy. I don’t let LMB read any of my comics until I’ve scanned them first. He’s partial to Red & Rover and Fred Basset.

Hello mornng and afternoon Cathyites. And to MIA from yesterday Mom! Don’t forget to check yesterday’s dessert posting if you missed it. They were a big hit at the fire company overnight and through today.

Ah, don’t worry, Molly – I still wear them! I have a selection of T-shirts in all kinds of reds, blues, pinks and greens, and I usually have some bright colour about me somewhere. But I don’t think I’ll wear my favourite mini skirt in golden brown suede again, sadly.

I nearly always wear red shoes, too – I don’t think I own a pair of soberly-hued ones! I’ve always loved red shoes, and oddly enough I married a man who also likes to wear red ones for dancing in.

Sales Lady is lying (and doesn’t realize it, sadly). Cathy’s size is too obvious, and panel 1 is making my eyes roll around my head like a slot machine. UGH! Aaron did warn me but of course I had to peek. Ick ick ick ugh ugh ugh Blech!

Hi evening crew. LMB and I have been on the ice. Once he gets a toe hold he’s great at assists. I think he likes hockey better than even soccer. Me too — harder for him to cheat like he did last night. :-D

Hi Cathyites!! Yes, brain bleach is in order for panel 1. I’m 64 and don’t care what folks think, so I wear whatever I want. I do follow the adage that if you wore mini skirts the first time around, don’t try it again (tho our skirts were nothing in comparison to today — and at least they stayed down). I was also quite skinny when halter tops were big in the 70s and I did wear them, but I never thought they looked that great on me. Some areas are just not pretty.

I too could not sleep last nite and should have joined in at 4:00 am with all of you. And as for the child-bearing age thing, everytime I think I’m safe and could never have a baby, somebody my age decides to have their own grandchild implanted. I don’t know how anyone could be that desparate in their 60s, but women are doing it.

I can remember wearing a shocking pink mini kilt with a skinny rib top in purple with stripes of green and orange. I think, nowadays, that would need a bit of brain bleach, even for me.
