That’s what you get for using Google.

They keep claiming they don’t listen, but it’s too much of a coincidence that after talking about something for a while, I start to either get adverts or news articles related to it. What is really weird is that I was once talking to someone else about something and my wife got the adverts. That’s just creepy

It’s pretty much accurate. Cut a lot of that targeted ad stuff down when I started using an ad blocker.

Face it, your computer is tracking you and ratting you out to merchants around the world. If you really want privacy, get a calculator and a typewriter. Everything else is a conspiracy of compromise.

The scary part is Facebook’s “ppl you may know” feature. Ever met a total stranger and then the next day you see a picture of them in PYMK? I’ll never make fun of tin foil hats ever again

And I always thought Siri was a woman. But this explains a lot.

I set my default search to a site that uses the Google engine, but masks my identity from Google…

You can even talk sometimes, then the things you talked about pop up!

That wouldn’t happen so much if you used duckduckgo to search.

Whatever happened to the search engine Alta Vista?

I was singing a song a few months ago (phone in pocket) and I forgot a few words. I took my phone out and started to google “lyrics to…” and the name of the song I was singing popped up before I typed another letter. That’s scary.

They see you when you’re sleeping; they know when you’re awake; they know if you’ve been bad or good, so be good if you know what’s good for you…..

The same way Alexa knows…..
