@ JWF – I’m so sorry to hear this!! Your comic is awesome and although I may not comment every day, I do love reading every day. I will continue to read the classics, and I hope that you have success in the near future! Best wishes!!
I’m so sorry to hear that, Mr. Forgetta. It just seems wrong that a talented person can not make money for all the wonderful entertainment you have provided the public. Good luck to you. I’m going to miss my daily fix of Lila and the gang!
It’s a sad state of affairs. when goons can make millions knocking each other senseless on an ice rink or playing field, but intelligent, humourous discourse in a simple comic strip cannot be financially sustainable. Corporate sponsorship, marketing of overpriced junk, and cheezy promotions may regretably be the only solution. Sorry it hasn’t worked out, John.
JWF I am sick to my stomach over this. This is my all time favorite strip, I have been with you from the start. IS THERE ANYTHING WE AS A GROUP CAN DO? Sign a petition and send it to syndicates perhaps?
Sorry to hear this. I only discovered this strip about six months ago, so I’ll enjoy reading the reboot, too. Hope the future provide a path to new strips.
A new Lila strip is like “Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League”; we won’t see either. But seriously, I am bummed we won’t get to see how things shake out for Lila, Boyd, Annie and crew. Sorry to hear about the strip not generating enough income to keep it going, JWF. Thank you for the enjoyable strips and topics for debate.
I have to agree with everyone else here. I will regret not learning how everything works out for everyone, especially Annie and Lila. Good luck in your future endeavors and I pray that you will one day get to continue with your amazing and enjoyable characters.
I’m sorry to see the strip end but I understand. I will point out that Lynn Johnston managed to write an ending to the For Better Or For Worse strip before it went into rewind. We loyal readers at least deserve a blog entry on what your intention was with the current story line.
JWF, thanks for all the hard work and dedication that made us laugh and think at the same time. I’ll enjoy seeing the classics from the beginning, and hope that you’ll get to that cliffhanger wrap-up one day.
I am so sad to hear that you are discontinuing this strip. Thank you for firing the upstart at Lila’s job first. Could we bribe you in anyway to marry her off before you quit? I have enjoyed your humor and wish you the best.
JWF, reminds me of when I quit a job because I was paying the babysitter more than I was making. Can’t keep working for free, or losing money. So sad to see my favorite comic strip ending.Maybe you could have a fan contest on your website for how everything turns out.

JWF please put the “splain on us” as to what happened here. Was it a mix-up on strips?

Cul de Sac, Cow & Boy and now Lila? Pretty soon the only comic strip running will be Garfield…

JWF: How could a strip this good not make any money? Clearly, you have been casting pearls before swine.

It’s criminal that this strip is ending while so many worthless “gag-a-day” comics are thriving.

I am so sorry to see this end. I love this strip. I for one would donate to a kickstarter campaign to keep it running for a little while…

If I could draw, I’d offer to do the artwork for free. But I can’t draw :(
