we had teachers would wanted conformity. we had teachers who wanted creativity. there has to be balance. like some places would sell you a hamburger with patty and buns and condiments. other places would deconstruct that burger, to components and eat a spoonful of those components(taste like a burger).

Note also that “flummox” means “to confuse or perplex,” which is exactly what he did to poor Mrs. Olsen. No surprise there, of course.
