Lynn, this stuff is just as good the second time around-actually, better because the past gives it such poignancy-it seems to have more impact on me 30 years later since hindsight gives me 20/20 vision.

I knew John didn’t have it in him to let Michael suffer. Michael also learned to listen to his Dad but also what a parent will do for his child.

My dad passed in Nov. ‘2011. He was 87, so we had a lot of good years together. He was also the kind who would have replaced the angel in the middle of the night. Such a kind and thoughtful man. As an only child, he (and mom) spoiled me rotten, and I loved every minute. Most of all, though, it wasn’t the spoiling, but just having incredible parents to share it all with. Wow, I miss dad (and mom) so much, even today.

Christmas magic only works in December. Dad magic works year-round.

I love the ending of this story. I just wish she would show John with some of that kindness to Elly.

This is a great Christmas storyline. Like those sappy movies on TV that I love. The comments just add to it. Yes, I’m a little teary-eyed too.

I am doubly teary-eyed. Once because the story is so beautiful, and once because my dad was the type who would have broken the angel out of spite. Takes all kinds.

Sweet…Sometimes parents lose their patience/cool, but we try to make up for it and have the good times overpower the not-so-good.

Well said!!! You were blessed; so was I. My dad used to do things for me; now I “do things” for my son.

Sooo happy for all of you who have or had fathers who would have done the good deed ,and sorry for all with the dads who would not have. Let’s remember this one the next time the Lynn-bashing starts over how poorly she depicts her husband.
