Hey!!! Skylar finally go one right(in our estimation). Donât know about his teacher. As for the âannouncementâ of the âpop quizâ, the teacher wants to make sure Skylar and his classmates study for it.
Distressingly Crowded (the roads), Dysfunctional Congress, Delightfully Calming (the arboretum, Rock Creek park, etcâŠ), Delicious Cooking (Jose Andres Puertaâs restaurants), Detached Community (we have no voting representation in Congress). Of course, my neighbors think D.C. stands for Dupont Circle.
It USED to be âB.B.D.C.â which was âBurned by Danm Canadiansâ, but they changed it to âDistrict of Columbiaâ shortly after that fateful day 98 years ago. ..YES ⊠I know technically, it was the BRITISH that burned it down ⊠but they were living in Kanada at the time.
None of the political parties care about the average citizen. The real problem is not enough of the populace cares enough to make a change. IMO the entire Congress and White House/Cabinet need to be replaced and political parties outlawed.
Demonstrably Conceited. And it doesnât matter how many times you recite your talking points, SGT, you are still wrong. You donât get out of recessions by cutting. Historyâs shown it again and again.
Are you for real? Why should someone, anyone cooperate with something they do not believe will work. And since when do the liberals cooperate. They donât cooperate, they cram down your throat. Obamaâs idea is âyou sign off on raising taxes and then weâll talk about cutting spendingâ. Thatâs not compromise, thatâs âI get my way you get an empty promiseâ. As for Pelosi, remember when they were cramming Obamacare down our throats? Pelosi said âwe have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in itâ. Really?! How about we find out what is in a bill that is going to encompass 1/7th of the economy before we even vote on it. No, she knew she had both the house and senate so she crammed it down our throatsâŠreal cooperation there. Who else besides govât can give themselves a raise in revenue without first exercising solid fiscal restraint? If any business or person did that they would either go bankrupt, go to jail, or both. Taxes are such a minimal issue in our debt crises as to be almost laughable. If we donât cut the spending we are going off the cliff regardless how much you raise taxes.
Who screws up and then gives themselves a raise (not to mention a golden parachute)?Try most corporate boards and CEOs. Then we have the Goldman Sachs CEO say WE canât afford entitlements, then goes out and buys a 23 million dollar mansion. What you mean WE? Sgt needs to get off the talking points of Glenn Beck, et. al. With a Republican Supreme Court that shows its colors by the 2000 Bush/Gore ruling, they would have said No Dice! BTW: It was Republican judge (among many others) who said the birther case had no merit.
We have the LOWEST tax rate in nearly 75 years. We have the lowest rate of revenue coming into the Federal government, as percent of GDP EVER. Yes, we DO have a revenue problem, a severe revenue problem. Add to that the gross overpayment to the Military industrial Complex that the GOP wonât allow to go down, even though we spend more on the military than the ENTIRE rest of the planet. It is positively obscene what we are wasting on the military while cutting education, social services, science, NASA, allowing the interstate system to collapse. Yet the GOP wants even LOWER spending, except on the military. They are trying to force a plutocracy.
By what measure in your deluded Teabagger brain is he barred from being President? If you are going to spew that stupidity about âheâs not born in Americaâ that BULLS__T was debunked REPEATEDLY but the RACISTS LIKE YOU in the Tea Party just refuse to believe facts.
Sgt: Iâve read the 1875 Minor decision. Why donât you post the relevant section to defend your opinion. The justices did NOT say a citizen had to have two natural-born parents. The case revolved around giving a woman the right to vote, which the justices denied. The section you cite was an example of a woman who was not a citizen, but whose husband had declared intent for citizenship, could she then be declared a citizen if he died before executing his wishes. That example, fictitious, actually had no bearing on the case, but was an attempt at justification for their decision. It mentions nothing about having to have two natural-born citizen parents, unless there is some hidden meaning. BTW: a rose by any other name!

âD.C.â stands for âDistrict of Columbiaâ, but years ago, it once stood for âDodge Cityâ because of the sniper shootings that happen there.
