Lotsa ways to get the Brad/Toni thing done and still keep this thing reasonably “family.”. We could see Toni pulling a sweater on over her bra – and we see the sun rising through the window. We see a caption – someone asking her, “what time do you have to get in?”. The last frame they’re both eating breakfast in the kitchen…

The Brad/Toni thing already IS done…at least, to about 90 percent of us. Maybe she’s leading up to a belated acceptane of the proposal. That’d be honest to god movement!

I once complimented my wife on what great job she did with her make-up; she always looked so beautiful. She looked at me and said “I never wear make-up.”

And yes, Toni was just kidding… pulling Brad’s chain, as it were!

This is about as risque as I expect to see in the strip, but it certainly implies a lot more than what it shows….

although some women wear too much makeup.

Also, Toni is one of the brighter women on the strip. She didn’t miss the beautiful comment. Brad will be rewarded later.

Awkward levels are being watched closely…SOMEONE is going to interrupt, I just know it.

How adorable! They’re even dressing alike now— same color of denim, t-shirts are almost the same (sleeve lengths are different).*Good prediction, Levy. Someone— whoever it is— is going to interrupt! It’s only Monday, so there’s a lot of adventure and angst for the two of them this week. (Last time, Shannon turned off the heat by disappearing— sleeping in the warm clothes.)

During the weekend I made a TERRIBLE discovery about Luann. We canot ask Mr. Evans to progress too fast because…*If she goes to community college and graduates.She gets an office job ANDShe becomes “Cathy”! You know, the husband-obsessed 30-something by Cathy Guissewite (sp?). She was good in one strip, but we do not need another!

Not everything has to be spelled out. It’s been made perfectly clear on several occasions that Toni has given herself to Brad (the bow in her hair one Christmas, the intense need to get Luann to babysit recently). But this stuff only lasts so long without commitment, and I can’t wait to see Brad change the one thing about Toni he can’t stand – her last name.

Okay… now I’m thinking of Toni naked—which is good.But I’m also thinking of Brad naked—which is BAD! So very, very BAD!

Doesn’t it bother anyone that she didn’t thank Brad for the compliment? Or that her aunt had her wearing makeup at age 12?

Not sure what we’re supposed to make of this. I think Greg likes to play with us.

Brad doesn’t want to know why Toni wears makeup. That question was obviously a set-up to his unimaginatively worded complement.

Now it’s high time for Brad to drop the words and move to action. I’m waiting.

What I want to know is why Toni was apparently being raised by her aunt. Where was her mom? Did they live in different trailer parks?

I wouldn’t count on things progressing too fast here. After all, Luann has been in high school for more than twenty years.

If this wasn’t my fave strip….
