So, all you “It will never work!” people…see? They are made for each other. It just took them a loooong time to admit it. At the same time, I might add.

Eyeroll! These two have me considering eloping if I get married, not really, I’ve been thinking about it for awhile.

Hi Cathy clan. lightenup They really do have an extended school year in Spain. My children complained about going until June 10th, mainly because two of my children were done earlier. Now I’m trying to find summer activities – apparently I should have started in April!

Um, this isn’t what you should be competing about! .Hello Cathy clan! Yes, QuietStorm, and we still have another week! You’re right about summer activities. When we were in the US,I used to sign up for popular camps in January sometimes to get the ones we wanted. And one camp offered discounts if you signed up before Thanksgiving, so I had to make plans 9 months in advance if I wanted to save money. But that commitment made me a bit nervous. It was easier when they were little and didn’t care what I signed them up for.

This is what happens when a grown man and woman lets both of their helicopter mothers plan their wedding for them instead of doing it themselves. Just imagine how outrageously expensive this whole thing is going to be when it involves that many people. So far, they’re up to 713 people (including the extra 12 people Cathy said her mom could invite and NOT including the unknown quantity involved regarding the Herman family). AACK!!!

It makes me think about the 1991 Steve Martin / Diane Keaton movie “Father Of The Bride.” Including everything (right down to the swans!), the total price was $250.00/person. There were 572 people on the guest list (including the bride, her parents and her little brother) — which meant Steve’s character was going to have to put out $143,000.00 for his daughter’s wedding . . . and the reception was going to be held in their own home too! Given that they lived in San Marino, CA and hired a professional wedding coordinator to handle everything for them, that number is no doubt a lot higher than what Cathy and Irving’s wedding would cost (unless they lived in California and hired a professional planner too). But still . . . 713+ is A LOT of people! Just think about it. What if Cathy and Irving decided to go “whole hog” for their first (and if they’re lucky — only) wedding and by the time the figures came in, it was going to cost them $250.00/person, as well? That means they would be shelling out a minimum of (again, not in-cluding the unknown Herman family members) $178,250.00. That’s one helluva one-day party (and not even a FULL day at that). Most people would be over the moon to live in a HOUSE that’s worth anywhere near that much! So again. AACK, I say!!!!! :-P

P.S.: No, I didn’t know all that “F.O.T.B.” movie stuff off the top of my head. While it’s one of my favorite movies, I haven’t seen it in a while so I had to watch parts of it to come up with all the info I needed for my comment. ;-)

We just had family, plus one friend from school days. Much simpler!
