Because I don’t know if I can order anything I want and you will have no problems with the cost, or if I need to act like I have been dying for a hamburger. The amount you are spending on your own meal gives me a clue, which is necessary because you may have a “threat to your manhood” issue that involves paying. Getting this wrong can mean we suddenly have to be just friends and go Dutch, or I have to decide it’s my turn to pay. Either way, it’s much less likely to be a problem if I know what you are spending on your meal. Being a woman is a lot of work.

Other than the obvious double standard, Irving seems to be overreacting a bit. The question is a pretty harmless one. My husband and I will occasionally ask each other what we’re going to order because we usually like the same foods, so we might share if we both are deciding between the same two entrees. Or I may just be curious because I think I know what the other person is going to order, so I want to see how accurate I was in my guess, like a game. All that aside, I’ve never seen or heard anyone asking a stranger what phone they have and start a mini-frenzy about it. A fancy car, maybe, but not a phone.

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! Have a great day, all!

This brings up a question I have. When you go to have dinner and want to share the entrée you pick out for “one”, have you ever been charged a “plate charge” which can vary from $2 to $10? This seems to be a thing in some areas. I avoid those places on principle.

I will often ask what everyone else is having if I cannot decide what to have myself. Sometimes hearing what others are having will help me decide. Occasionally I will intentionally order something different than my wife so we can compare tastes. On our occasional outings to Swiss Chalet (very occasional since we do not have one in our area) we do compare our orders so that one of orders fries and the other salad. When we are served we immediately split the fries and salad so we have some of each. Ordering and extra side each would make the meal too big.

So, what are you having today? Hopefully the answer is ‘A great day’. Maybe we can share.

    Pot, meet kettle …

On a related note, good to see I’m not the only person in the world who uses a Droid phone. All I ever seem to see is ads for and with people with iPhones, but I’ve always liked Droids better.

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

This comic is so dated, unfortunately. All those fabulous features on their Brand New Phones – every one of those people’s brains would explode if they saw what we have now!
