Today is the second day of Rosh Hashanah … and my 73rd birthday. It’s a double reason to celebrate.

I have now out-lived my mama and am not sure how – between illness, adverse reactions to rescue inhaler and another med and “death” of nebulizer, I’ve looked death in the face more times than I want to remember!

Thanks for helping me celebrate two new beginnings – 5782 and 73! :-)

I guess it would be easier to ignore someone with only one way to contact them. But even back in my day, there was a phone. I feel like it’s never too late to get in touch with someone… if you really wanted to. Love how Cathy’s mom pulls out her paper address book. I had one of those a long time ago, but now it’s all electronic. Remember the ol’ Rolodex?

I do miss Charlene. Especially since she married one of Cathy’s ex-boyfriends.

I can appreciate the “guilt” of unintentionally letting her friendship with Charlene fall by the wayside as that’s something that can happen to ALL of us thanks to a pretty big thing called “life.” But there’s another way for Cathy to look at it too: Charlene hasn’t exactly bothered to communicate through email, text, Facebook, Twitter, blogging, or Skype with her either! But rather than continue feeling badly about it, all she has to do is pick up the phone, give her a call, tell her she’s been thinking about her, and ask how she’s been. It’s not complicated, but it does take some amount of effort and ambition on her part in order to do it, though ….. something that can’t be achieved by sitting there and doing nothing except “crying” to her mother about it.

Hello and happy Wednesday, fellow Cathy fans. Have a really great day everyone! :-)

I had to stop contacting one friend, who became lost in “Mom Land”. She didn’t have time to talk to me five minutes on the phone but had no trouble spending fifteen minutes on an email telling me only that she was too busy to communicate with me. ???

In our ‘gang’ we would often lose touch with someone for years. Even my best friend was gone for 10 years when he was in a very controlled marriage (she controlled him including not allowing him to contact ‘his’ friends). He finally kicked her out and gave us a call. It was like those 10 years did not even exist as we all simply picked up the friendship where it had left off. Unfortunately his death makes it highly unlikely he will contact us again. Sure do miss him.
