Dropped out? Would the University even know he’s gone?

How could he drop out when he was never in?No one will even know he’s gone!

Two comments so far. We are all saddened by the bombings in Boston. People don’t know what to say. I do. Pull together people. Let us as a nation and people stand in solidarity against terrorism. Let us not be intimidated by these acts of hate. Please let us come together.

I heard B.D. statement from my own father about 3-4 times before I finally succeded. I just hope these bombing won’t lead to more “we are going to protect your freedoms by takeing them away type policys”. Sorry a trolls gotta troll.

This time is the charm. The concept of legal dope is just to good to drop. The plant talk will be just too addictive.

I do. It’s a comic strip and the dynamic tension between their different world views creates humor, so it would have been unwise for Trudeau to have had one of them kill the other. I’m sorry Susan, I’m just feeling a little snarky this morning.

Zonker, even with all his irresponsible zaniness, is a very lovable character. He has served as nanny to both BD’s and Mike’s daughters. Killing him would be like killing a puppy dog.

Odds are,that those two won’t make it out of the State of Confusion.

Why the reference to 9-11 and not to the Oklahoma City bombing?

“What, as in first or preemptive strike?”.Why not, it worked so well in Iraq, didn’t it?

We could target Saudi Arabia since the guy they are questioning about the Boston bombing is a Saudi national and 15 of 19 9-11 hijackers were Saudis. But we can’t, Saudi Arabia is our ally.-Visiting teams usually get stuck in quagmires and can’t wait to return to home.

The Boston bombing does not fit the 9-11 bombing pattern either. One could argue that the Boston bombing “fits the pattern” of the January 17, 2011 bombing where a backpack bomb was placed along a Martin Luther King Day parade route in Spokane by a white supremacist who was subsequently convicted and sentenced to 32 years in federal prison.Note that I’m not saying anything about the perpetrator(s) of the Boston bombing; I only question the premature (in my mind) link to 9-11. As far as I am aware, the FBI does not know and, until it does, people should refrain from jumping to conclusions.

I assume you are referring to the arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Gates. Let’s look at what happened there:1- Henry Gates, suffering from bronchial infection, spends 16 hours on a flight from China to Boston breathing recycled air. He is not in a good mood.2- Upon arriving at his house, he finds that his key doesn’t work. His taxi driver, a man of Mideastern origin, helps Gates force open the door.3- A passerby sees this and calls the police. Sgt. James Crowley responds. Crowley goes to house and asks the Gates for his ID. Gates provides his Harvard ID, and according to Gates also his driver’s license which has the house address on it4- Here the story differentiates. Crowley says that Gates was belligerent and accused the police response of being racially motivated. Gates said he was cooperative but when he asked Crowley for his name and shield number, Crowley asked him to step outside.5- Upon stepping on his own porch, Gates was arrested for disorderly conduct. Mind you, at this time it had been established that Gates was the resident of the house. The Middlesex County District Attorney dismissed the charges 5 days later.6- Few days later President Obama was asked about the incident and said the police acted stupidly. Could Obama have used better language to describe the police handling of the situation? Probably. Could Gates have taken a deep breath and realized Crowley was just doing his job? Certainly. Could Crowley have taken steps to de-escalate the situation? Definitely. You had two men successful men in their professional fields feeling disrespected by each other. When people start thinking with their egos instead of their brains, it never turns out good.7- I will skip the White House beer part. Gates has said that he now has an amicable relationship with Crowley. Crowley gave the handcuffs used in the arrest as a gift to Gates.Gates took a sample of Crowley’s DNA for research for his show “Faces of America.”Turns out Gates and Crowley are distant cousins, they share a common Irish ancestor.

I disagree with you. Home grown terrorist would have taken aim at a government facility to show their displeasure, e.g. Oklahoma City. This attack has all the marks of an Islamist terrorist operation, aimed at doing the most human damage possible.

This does fit terrorist patterns from Spain and England as well as 9-11. This was multiple bombs. The President gave an honest answer. The District Attorney’s office didn’t believe the arrest was justified. It is the job of the police to de-escalate the situation, not to arrest one of the highest regarding academics of the country. Losing your temper is not a crime.

Just to say we’re thinking of you on the other side of the pond too.

Re matching what happened in the UK; the 7/7 attacks were suicide bombers. They were also British, though jihadist rather than protesting about a homegrown issue.

This reminds me more of the IRA attacks on London in the 80s. Which is also a reminder of how times change; I have to say the US condemnation of terrorism was not quite as forthright back then.

Maybe Zonker won’t be coming back this time.

The only erroneous conclusion was the arrest of Henry Gates.I wasn’t aware that the Cambridge Police was infallible or above criticism.

And when he does, B.D. will take him in because he is a kind, caring person under all that bluster. A truly compassionate conservative.

I am only keeping my opinion about Boston to myself.I will be more than happy to counter your opinions for both entertainment and educational purposes. Speaking of which, did you read my replies regarding Jefferson?

You’re about 7 months behind on your report reading.-Is the racist language (kaffir) really necessary?

I, personally, am waiting to see what the experts uncover and not ( like some people we know ) making a rush to judgement.Many times, in instances such as this, there are groups, or individuals rushing to take credit for this type of horrific act. To my knowledge, no group or single person has come forward. Maybe, because it is such a cowardly act, they are ashamed and/or afraid – although I doubt it.My gut instinct tells me that this is a homegrown act of terrorism, rather than the act of a foreign agency – ie. Al Qaeda or North Korea. No matter who the perpetrator or perpetrators, I pray they will be discovered and swiftly captured and punished.Boston is a tough town and it will heal and recover but it, like the rest of us, will never forget !

I think we need a few “rights” eroded. Like the “right” to post “recipes” for bombs of this nature to be used against innocent people — especially kids. Like the “right” to form hate groups to plot these types of activities against every person living in this country. Catching these lowlifes after the fact is not enough. We need find the guts to stop these events before they happen. When I was growing up you didn’t have to be afraid to go to school because some nut might gun you down, you didn’t have to be afraid to attend an event because you might get blown up, and you didn’t have an anonymous place to get together with other nuts and plot these attacks. We put a stop to some of these human rights violations during the 60s & 70s, it seems like we could have the guts to protect our fellow citizens once again.

And good for them. As I’ve said since 9/11, if you are terrorized, the terrorists have won. Sadly, we’ve given them too many victories they didn’t deserve.
