Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for May 03, 2013
Transcript:
Arlo: I can't believe how fast time passes! Janis: Back to the subject... Janis: If you don't care for the cinema, maybe we could go to plays, or concerts! Arlo: That ought to slow down time! Arlo: I'm teasing you! I've enjoyed everything you ever dragged me to!

I’d never tell my wife that. She drags me to enough with being encouraged to do it more.

I let my husband pick the movies. Not because I’m following the doctrine of Gabrielle Reece and believe in being submissive….
I cannot watch or see any ads for movies without remembering them and ruining the movies for myself. They cannot keep to the first half of the movie to sell it. They need to show the ending. Well, thanks. Now I will be looking for that scene subconsciously and can predict nearly every scene. OY!
Ya, even my husband now watches or reads just a little teaser before not looking over any more. We both enjoy movies a thousand times more now.

IMHO most women would appreciate a surprise date once in a while. Even if her guy picks something not at the top of her list.

My hubby and I can generally agree — that there’s nothing at the movie theatre we want to go see.

Bad news Arlo- you are now going out of town to The Sound of Music audience participation show with Janis and all of her sisters!

well that was ALMOST a real apology.

Maybe he should drag her to all the places he wants to go. Doubt any wife would put up with that.

I’ve been waiting for this. Movies are really best watched at home, but theater is really the best date. Even lousy community stuff is pretty entertaining.
As THESEUS said in Midsummer Night’s Dream:
“The kinder we, to give them thanks for nothing. Our sport shall be to take what they mistake:And what poor duty cannot do, noble respectTakes it in might, not merit.”

On the occasions that my wife and I go to movies in the theater, it is generally a mutual choice. We actually do not consider very many movies worth the cost of seeing at cinema prices, and it is usually one where the really big screen is a factor.

My husband only likes sci-fi, so he and a friend go to the movies together quite often. I go back to bed and enjoy a nap and a good book.
