I’m surprised his finger didn’t fall off.

Okay – why is he taking his wedding ring off now?

Or some hand lotion. Our rings are very ornate and since we are both left-handed we seldom wear them around the house. It got to the point that hubby couldn’t get his on, so we went to a jeweler to have it stretched. Over $1,000. I got him a sterling Celtic ring at a local Renn Fest.

Maybe it’s time you watched what you eat and start exercising, Ben.My husband was overweight when we got married, but I eat healthy (most of the time) so he had to get a new wedding ring soon after we got married (the original one would fall off just by swinging his arm when he walked). Now he’s watching what he eats more (he eats lunches in restaurants at work, travels a lot and has business dinners) and has lost another 20 lbs recently. May be time for a resizing…

Before you go making judgments about weight, it can be something else. I had to have mine cut off because I have secondary osteoarthritis. My joint has enlarged due to the deterioration, and does not work well at all any more. I had a continuous ache in the knuckle of that finger that wouldn’t go away, caused by the ring. There was no way the ring would come off, so we had to cut it off. That was one of the saddest days of my life.

I have a permanent dent in my finger from wearing an too-small ring for many years. Looks a lot like Ben’s.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Before we found the right meds to control it, my fingers swelled so much that I had to have my wedding ring cut off and resized. It was cutting into the tendons and making my finger curl into my palm. It is a plain gold band, and just by luck, when they cut it off it missed the engraving. You can’t tell it was ever cut. Now that my meds are working, it is a bit big, but not so much that I lose it.

He could be an electrician, or use a lathe in his job.
