This is one reason why I loved my cockatoo. As long as the room was dark, or the cage was covered, that girl was silent. Except for the time or two she “fell out of bed”. It was either that or she had a nightmare.

I’m guessing Ludwig is trying to tell them that something’s amiss. Fire, perhaps?

I’ve had lots of cats and kittens that my daughters brought home. Not one of them said Meow. All of them said Rowr.

My Sadie-Bug(black and white domestic shorthair) will climb up on my lap, look me right in the face, and “rowr” in a high pitch tone. Meaning: “My food dish is empty, stupid!”

Domino woke me up to let me know something was amiss downstairs. The playing cats must have run over and stepped on the vacuum cleaner and it was roaring away. I got up went downstairs and shut it off.

Agree with many of the comments, that Lud wants something else — note the subtlety of how Jimmy drew his feet, with that “put on the brakes” curvature when Arlo was putting him out.

When our cats get like that, it means either “feed me”, “pet me” or “there’s a bug, kill it” or “I just killed a bug, come see what I did for you”.

ALL cats want to be let out a 4 AM. That’s why none of ours ever slept in the room with us.

The only thing worse than a noisy cat is listening to cat owners talk about their cats!

My favorite Sylvia comic strip showed her musing about the perfect alarm clock to shock you awake: a recording of two cats yurking up their hairballs simultaneously.

Smokey Joe is my alarm cat…he knows what time I have to be up to go to work…and will get on the bed and make sure I get up…same for church and Sunday School; on Saturday, he doesn’t make a peep…or meow…how he knows is beyond me.

When our Siamese came meowing at me (he usually ignored me and waited for my wife) it was become he’d done some serious damage to his leg!
