Here’s two possible suggestions for songs: “This Must Be the Place (Naïve Melody)” by Talking Heads (a song that says “I love you and need you’” without getting all gushy, and was written as a wedding gift =and “Lovesong” by the cure… Also a wedding gift and meant to also say “I love you” in that “Robert Smith” kind of way…..

Sorry to be an imitating monkey, but I also had found your phrase to be succinct and as complete and “perfect” a maxim as it can get…=So a “like” button from me, as well!….

Domestic bliss: Shannon and Brad. Will Toni agree to be part of it?^I was wondering, with there being just one more day to go, this week, if , Toni will say something during the course of dialogue tomorrow that will have everyone do a double take, or have a surprise attached to it, something unexpected maybe, for the reaction the equivalent of a needle scratching a record….perhaps not some bombshell dropping, or anything bad,but something that would definitely surprise people….

Is it me or did anyone else notice Shannon said BRAD not Bwad. Brdshtt I thought the same thing I think Toni’s brother is going to leave and Toni and Brad will become legal guardians.

I. Not sure how to answer. I started reading Luann in September of 2011 after being out of the loop for a few years. Shannon was already part of the storyline. Can someone fill me in? Thanks.

Mark my words… Toni’s brother will die, and Brad and Toni will take Shannon. Too much perceived shame involved in giving up a child. I said “perceived”… not actual. Sometimes it really is best for the child.

Things are going so perfectly, something wrong has to happen. Like Dirk showing up at the wedding, saying he objects because Shannon is actually his and Toni’s daughter, and Toni’s brother was just a cover. Hope I’m wrong…

Ahh… the ole “rubber meets the road” trick, Been used on me many times. Really quite useful.

I keep thinking that Brad bought Toni a ring when he proposed to her last year. Did he return it?

I wish he would. Probably the best thing for Shannon.^^Best thing for Brad too!

What’s a POTUS?

so tomorrow Brad asks Toni, she says yes, he puts the tiara “ring” on her finger, and Shannon is happy^^That would be a great way to end a great week of strips!

I believe Shannon could always pronounce Brad’s name correctly. However, she used to call him BWAD because she was jealous of the time he was spending with Toni (the only real parent she has ever known); now that she sees him as a more permanent part of her own life and a surrogate father, she usually calls him BRAD. Now when she calls him BWAD, it is a sign of her growing security and affection.^^More than plausible

Toni is already proud of Brad for interacting so well with Shannon. She’ll be impressed with him “playing wedding” with Shannon – probably even kiss him in front of Shannon.

Darn strip turning into a soap opera. LOL Be glad to get back to a little bit of drama.

It would be a bombshell to us and to Brad. Since he has not had sex with her, he would wonder if she snuck off and saw Dirk. ^That is actually part of numbers 1,2,…..you know what? That is part of all of them!…

Shannon is unwittingly solving two problems:1) Brad doesn’t feel quite right about Toni’s doing the proposal.2) Brad still doesn’t feel quite right about the ring— now Shannon’s giving him one to give Toni.

…I agree with@Brdshtt…your sentence is a perfect description of certain individuals…I have one such person in mind…“evil” person…used his young daughter, from age 9 to 18, for his own selfish ends…trashing her life emotionally…made her a ‘life long’ candidate for psychological therapy/counseling…she is 23 now and struggling mightily to deal with her past…some days are good…but many are not…my heart frequently aches for her…I hope Shannon’s dad doesn’t do to her what was done to my step-grand daughter by her dad…no child should EVER have to experience such trauma…in life or in the comics…

I didn’t get a chance to watch the concert… I didn’t even get to “Time Machine” or "R30…I’m sure there’s some “logical” explanation, somewhere!=It also blew my mind when I found that Weird Al has 27 somewhere on each of his albums….

My all time favorite in- joke for them is the “Moving Pictures” cover….(1) Moving men who are moving some pictures…(2) The pictures themselves are emotionally.. moving, as shown by the people crying over seeing them…(3) On the back cover, they’re making a movie (moving picture) of the whole thing…

It seems that the only reason the machines were there on stage, is because when Geddy changed his concert rigging, switching from the microphone and amp setup, to directly connecting to the stage console mixing unit… at that point, the joke grew to fill the now empty side of the stage with all the stuff like the vending machines and appliances, and even mixing bowls and chefs……

But this kind of thing reveals why this ‘its only a comic strip’ touches a nerve for many of us….. ^This is true! Along with your well phrased response to lectricdude (I do also hope for a positive outcome for her and hope for support for her and those that stand by her, and especially for her continued survival of such a tragedy!), it shows that there are more aspects (sometimes happy, sometimes tragic) to a 2D strip than just what the “surface” shows… and apart from a few strips out there where some of us also incidentally post, many others can’t seem to grasp what goes on here….. as that example shows….

If the subject of Dirk being invited even is brought up I will find it nearly impossible to ever respect the character who says it.
