Frazz by Jef Mallett for September 02, 2013
Transcript:
Girl: You know, making the last day of summer a holiday doesn't help. It just gives the pain a name. Frazz: Um...no. Not that name. Girl: I'm pretty sure I've heard my mom go on rants about labor pain. Frazz: And that's not what she's ranting about. Girl: All due respect, she goes straight from that into men not having a clue.

Itâs been said that men in long-term marriages die 6-7 years before their wives. My take is after years of feminine nagging and general complaining, the men just check out early.
I kid, I kid. Put the chairs down.

This talk about labor reminds me of the old skit by Bill Cosby when he describes his wife when she was in labor â Google âBill Cosby â Natural Childbirthâ â hillarious

What have drugs and cigarettes to do with labor pains? As I already wrote in yesterdays column of âLiberty Meadowsâ: I think the only one who is on drugs here seems to be you.

I think itâs funny how the kid misunderstands both what the holiday is about and what her mom is griping about.

The irony is that one of my nephews was born on a Labor Day. lol

My sister was also born on a Labor Day. The week before everyone was teasing my mother, asking if she was going to have the baby on Labor Day. My sister was 3 weeks earlyâguess she was in on the joke!

single men die faster than married ones. being a man is hard because there are so many rules about being manly. I think I am lucky to be a woman although when I was a kid I envied boys for their freedom.

Gee, I googled âSudden Onset Alzheimersâ and could find nothing about it affecting Boomers or caused by pot use. You do realize that the oldest Boomers are still only in their mid-sixties, right? But, this is the internet, and anyone can make up statistics, right?

MStevenson58: Like a lot of things, one term can mean different things. You are correct about September 21 (except it is 20 this year in North America). That is astronomical end of summer. Meteorological meaning is the First because they like it by the month. Academic date is whenever school starts and is used mostly by teachers and students, but few others.

Husbands die earlier than wives, but married men live longer than bachelors. Most likely because women force guys to the doctor when they would otherwise not go.

Sorry about all those guys who think living with their spouse is punishment. My wife and I have been together for over 30 years, we have twin daughters teenage daughters, and if I had it to do over again I would change nothing.
