Wally: Rowf (x5)
Patrick: Wally, be quiet! There are no badgers out there! There's nothing to bark at!
Wally: Have I ever barked for no reason?
Patrick: You bark for no reason all the time!
Wally: I meant so far today!
This is the first time I can remember that the thought bubble from an animal was understood by a human in a comic (not counting anthropomorphic animals, which actually talk.)
My dog always seems so disappointed when I open the door and there is nothing to bark at after all. Of course he is told he is a good watchdog anyway. Just doing his job.

Good thing he didn’t look outside or he would have seen the giant spider spinning a web over the entire house.

Wally is the break out star of this strip, a modern day Snoopy!

I love it when Wally “skattles.”
