I hope the Cap’n Crunch has CrunchBerries!

But my favorite “get going” cereal blend is Cocoa Puffs, Cocoa Krispies, and Count Chocula in chocolate milk topped with Fox’s u-bet Chocolate Syrup.
Templo S.U.D. about 11 years ago
The cereal I’d settle for would be Muesli, Basic 4, Cheerios, Rice Crispies, Kix, Special K… any of the healthy stuff instead of chocolate stuff, faux fruit stuff or even stuff with marshmallows.
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Gunther and Gallant time!Looks like Gunther here wants to learn to “sow his wild oats” while Quill just want to enjoy a simple bowl of cooked oats….. – And G-Man also wants to go all “Freedom For the Stallion” and break the yoke from his neck, while Quilly boy just wants to know that the “stable is never too far away”….
The Old Wolf about 11 years ago
Chill, Gunther. Quill is balanced enough that he won’t think badly of you.
Comicman424 about 11 years ago
Believe it or not, full grown adults indulge on kids’ cereal too… I could never get tired of the Reese’s Puffs.

Come on Gunther, chill!

“Brought to you” by…Shredded What? Cereal…–Jumpin’ Jack Flash Pancake Mix… “Rich in Fiber and good taste…. It’s a gas!”–Mrs. Butterbutts’ Syrup…. " Hip and delicious!"–Mordy™ brand coffee….. “Rev up your engine with 650 HP of good ol’ start-up fuel”…
JayBluE about 11 years ago
For cereal, I go for Cocoa Krispies, Life, Chex, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Raisin Bran, Shredded Wheat (with the frosting)….

and by…Kiwi Jack’s Diner… “Come start your day with the best tuckers for brekkie* you can get!….Chook ‘n’ Choog, with fresh eggs and tender chicken for breakfast… or our Reef and Beef, with your choice of any meat and seafood”…"Better than Maccas* and the best meal that you can tote in your esky!* " – (*Tuckers/Brekkie= food/breakfast; Chook, Choog = Chicken and Eggs; Maccas=McDonalds; Esky=food container)

There’s also the standby of Mentos and Coke … or pop rocks and pop rocks…. either way you’ll get an explosive reaction!….
honeysum about 11 years ago
I love these people. She’s so delighted to serve a guest. Quill is so humble and polite. Gunther wants to make a good impression. All because of Luann. If she only knew how much she matters.
JayBluE about 11 years ago
He learned it from Andy Capp….

Stu Steppin, responsible for the Nolan Thomas hit “Yo, Little Brother” also did a series of promos for Captain Crunch , including a special contest, which this music video (performed by Rick Derringer and the “Crunch Bunch Kids”) was a part of: – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbaWeQNkUPk

Aye… a right mess of work, that one is!….
DaJellyBelly about 11 years ago
I think Quill is slightly amused at Gunther’s attempts to look macho. That is why he is looking at him sideways with that little grin on his face. He should tell Gunther. “You don’t need to impress me. Just be yourself.”
jemgirl81 about 11 years ago
She offers all those delicious choices to you and you choose cereal? Sigh…
dadoctah about 11 years ago
Wait until they get to lunch, when Gunther finds out that Aussies put beetroot and fried eggs on their hamburgers.
SF1972 about 11 years ago
Jeez, is there a single oat in their house? Or is Gunther on the all sugar/cholesterol diet?
Marv Walker about 11 years ago
I’m a Cereal Cowboy myself. I Snap, Crackle & Pop when I move.
LeoAutodidact about 11 years ago
You can tell from Quill’s eyes that he knows what Gunther’s “having to put up with” He’s got OLDER Sisters, remember? Anything to keep “BABY Brother” in “his place” is going to be Old-News to the Q-Man.
And don’t be knockin the Cap’n, The Guppy’s got a CANNON!
Sisyphos about 11 years ago
No need to prove your manliness, Gunther. Quill won’t think less of you for Ma Berger’s revelation that all you have is a selection of "kid’s " cereals….
jimshari222 about 11 years ago
@Gunther: Choices? I thought she was offering to make all the above! Chow down!
cdward about 11 years ago
Gunther certainly does want to appear manly, doesn’t he?
jeanie5448 about 11 years ago
not much of a kids cereal fan but I love a big ole bowl of Raisin Bran or even Frosted Flakes in the morning…….yum, and relax Gunther, be yourself, I mean you got 7 or so months to live with him and he will see all sides of you in that time so start off right and just be who you really are, Capt. Crunch and all.
CasualObserver about 11 years ago
Gunther is very difficult to tolerate, much less like. He has serious issues. I’m looking forward to a more confident Gunther some day.
Contessa Carrington about 11 years ago
Biscuits and gravy with hash browns and cheese. Man do I miss my dad’s cooking.
Contessa Carrington about 11 years ago
Gunther, dear step back and take a long appreciative look at what have. Some day you may not have it and wish that you did.
Contessa Carrington about 11 years ago
Jim, relax. Life isn’t all about getting to your destination and being entertained. It is about the beautiful moments in the journey. It’s like sex….if you go straight to the climax, you miss all of the great stuff in between.
tubgrape about 11 years ago
I am getting very suspicious that Quill is actually a CIA plant who is 25 years old. The DeGroots is his cover. He is too wise to be a mere teenager. Sorry, he’s been found out!
sbchamp about 11 years ago
Gunth has had it. I can hear the apron strings tightenin’ around his neck from here…

“I think back on one of ‘The Lockhorns’ cartoons I read years ago. They were sitting at the breakfast table and a pretty wiped – out looking Leroy is pouring wine over his cereal. He tells his wife, Loretta, “Well, everyone I know puts wine over their cereal…”
Wheaties and beer. The breakfast of ex-champions.

“I can Just Pour a Bowl of Cereal…,”
So, the EXTENT of Pretty Boy getting His Own Meals back Home was POURING – A – BOWL – OF – CEREAL?!!?
Hey Lu? You’d BETTER Snap This “Caveman” Right Up, Because He’s a “Survivor”!
And Ma Berger? KEEP Fattening THIS Hoo-Doo Up ‘til He EXPLODES out of His “Dockers”. Let’s GIVE Luann MORE of Q-Ball to “Love”…..,
Train 1911 about 11 years ago
if i was Gunther I would have taken money from mom took Quill out for breakfast Gunther not gay but mom making him look like one
JayBluE about 11 years ago
…not just trying to appear more “manly” to Quill, but realizing finally how many boy-hood holdovers he’s settled in with… ^Exactly!
oldcomicsfan about 11 years ago
Gunther’s got issues with what HE thinks is “manly”. Sheesh, just relax and enjoy being human!!
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Speaking only in my personal take here, I see Mrs. B as a straight shooter… well maybe not straight shooter, more like an incidental aimer…. I think she is very comfortable with the simple stuff, and not being pretentious… to me, she seems to just “does like she does”, without any “shame” (relatively speaking, of course) and Gunther seems to be realizing this in what may very well be his “changing”, that there’s a world out there (besides the one he usually sees in his daily routine) to feel like you’ve been missing out on…
riverhawk about 11 years ago
How about good old bread and milk. With either sugar or Kayro?

Cap’N Crunch!!!

Breakfast of Wimps. If you really do want to “man up”, Gunther, you might think about copying Quill’s choice of sleepwear. Those lavender PJs with the tiny dots have got to go.

is Gunther wearing a shirt with a new design on it?
cruftschamp about 11 years ago
I agree with Jim.. Gunther is a one-of-a-kind oaf, whether he’s with Luann, Knute or Rosa or now Quill … can someone take some scissors and cut him out already, please?
TORAD_07 about 11 years ago
Don’t know about “Quake,” but I know that the cereal “Quisp,” is still around.
Of course, it is. :) Quake was too much like Cap’n Crunch. Quisp & Quake was the “Brillo/SOS war” of its time. Both made by the same company, attempting to drive up sales by creating a fake war between the two.
Of course, Quisp prevailed. Cute little space dude vs. the “hard hat construction dude?” ;-)))

Ignore them — and TELL gocomics so. At least the bloody things don’t seem to be the flashingtype as much as they used to.

> do you ever smile and just simply enjoy life?>Yes, for instance when I’m reading “Cul-de-Sac”. Do you ever think maybe you’re too defensive of “Luann”? Do you really think it’s that splendid a comic strip? Just asking, but I’d really like to know.
tadchem about 11 years ago
When I was in college my breakfast was cold pizza and warm beer.
JayBluE about 11 years ago
I think you mean Pop Rocks and Pepsi ^Nuh uh… Mentos and Coke (although Pepsi could substitute… put one in a bottle and shake slightly…. ( disclaimer : Don’t try this at home without a professional! )…the ingredients in a Mentos, when combined with the fizzing action in colas will cause a chemical reaction, much more powerful than a baking soda volcano!… if done in a well controlled process, it will be messy, but explosive! – The other thing is the Pop Rocks thing that was in the news, though….
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Number two is.. (ugggh!) “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” by Deep Blue Something….
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Also, “Cereal Killer” by Primus…
JayBluE about 11 years ago
And a special musical mention for “Kix”, the band….
William Ellwin Premium Member about 11 years ago
Is this Gunther’s feeble attempt at manning up?
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Actually, the “pop rocks” event I was referring to, wasn’t that one with “Mikey”.. forgot about that…it was another thing, I keep thinking Chicago, but maybe somewhere else.
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Talk about fountain drinks! (XD)
JayBluE about 11 years ago
20-25? Wow! I was thinking about 10 feet being generous! Must have made a difference using the combination of warrm bottles/just the right amount of mentos and the length of the holding collar….
ManateeGag about 11 years ago
Gunther’s trying too had.
sjsczurek about 11 years ago
What a shame that they no longer make Kaboom! cereal.
sjsczurek about 11 years ago
Sausage or meat pie or snags….
…. or bangers?

Maybe the pressure of trying to be a cool MAN, will actually transform Gunth. If he doesn’t do something quick, he’ll forever be Howard Wolowitz.
