I was going to say that Rat has it down pat,but the fact is that he skips the panic part.

On the TV show Alexei Sayle’s Stuff, the British comedian made a parody of the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”; it was called “Panic.” Great stuff.

Actually, Rat’s version is probably closer to human nature. I mean, I’d probably be cursing up a storm and running around like a chicken with its head cut off myself.

How does that saying go again? Something like… If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, then you don’t fully understand the situation.

I heard just lately on the BBC that this poster was never actually used. They had it, but didn’t use it. I don’t know if that’s true or not.

The “Carry On” films were named after the first in the series, Carry On Sergant, not after the poster.

Rat is not very creative. Some of the parody-versions are far more clever. Of course, “clever” isn’t what Rat was going for. He’s just disgustingly honest….

Steven……here’s material for another strip: The original of this poster was “and bugger on”. Apparently, someone in the British government thought “bugger”, one of Churchill’s favorite words (especially when referring to Nazis) was too prurient for public consumption. Too bad, I think “Bugger” makes the poster more interesting, and definitely more British.
