rhsasl, don’t insult witches. :-) Books are the only thing that I’m “addicted” to. And it’s the best kind of addiction. Yes, I can go a few days without reading a book (and have), but then my mind starts to feel like it’s escaping through my ears because it has nothing to do.
The Squire and I can’t be without a book. We eat at the table, and then go flop on the sofa. Even in the car, we’ll have a CD in the slot, and I still have a Walkman I wear when I’m doing housework.
When I was a little kid my Grandmother gave me a bunch of books . I remember Lassie, Mystery at Rustler’s Fort, Combat and several others. All Whitman titles written for young people. I loved them. Then when I was 11 she gave me her copy of Farley Mowat’s The Dog Who Wouldn’t Be. Books have been a part of my life ever since.

Betty’s friend (can’t remember her name) is proof that those exercises don’t work. Does reading Gocomics do any good?

Try teaching as an exercise. That’ll really keep you on your toes. It’s one of the reasons why I love my job. Never boring.

I love Alex — she shows every time that money cannot buy class and culture…
