Oh dear…this gives the name “South Dakota” a whole new connotation, as in “Situation going south—fast!” The transformation must have come with its own Shield of Boringness (or maybe a variation in which Dakota’s parents still see her as human), or else she would already be in a research laboratory somewhere…

Can she say that?I thought that this was a family strip.

oh… dear… Although I have every confidence in Marigold’s ability to come to Dakota’s rescue, I’m betting this is going to be very… interesting.

This is new, the Sunday strip continues the story arc. So is she a troll or a gremlin? I can see the case for either one. Since its Halloween, I can see why everyone will assume the transformation is just a good costume, for a while at least.

That is not Dakota. Notice the hair is not alive, but just lays there. This is a Changeling that has been left in Dakota’s place. I think Dakota was kidnapped by trolls for her valuable live hair. Will she be rescued before they find a way to remove the live hair? Wait and see.
