At least my name isn’t Brandon Oliver Michael Bender (that’d cause problems when initializing my luggage). Bender is my real surname, but my real given names’ initials are S.C.

What’s your nickname and why?

My nickname is Susan….for…um… Susan.

But my friends call me Susan.

Depends on who I’m talking to. One of my favorites, though, is Papa C.

Dani is my nickname – probably the only name to which I automatically answer. If someone calls me by my given name, I’m not apt to realize they mean me. Anyway, it’s a contraction of my last name before I married hubby.

I’ve had many nicknames but they are all directly derived from my Christian name which I don’t use here.

Skip. Because even though I’m named after my father, he could never remember it.

I’ve been called Rikki and Uncle Rikki taken from Rikki, Don’t Lose That Number.

My husband gave me the name Beezel, which he says is short for “Beelzebub, chief of the devils”. I’ m also Sue- Sue to my grandkids.

growing up I had no nickname until we moved to a new school district and everyone started calling me Kathy. I was rather perturbed but got used to it after a few years.

Shades of Richard Rosebud Petrie on the Dick Van Dyke Show (various ancestors couldn’t agree on whether to call Richie Richard, Oscar, Samuel, Edward, Ulysses, or a couple other names).

Answering the Question: Mainly the Jerry I use as my public name. Have been called Gerhard (which I use for my inmost soul), having chosen it for my German class in high school. My closest grade school friends called me G.G. because of a comic book I wrote and drew in which I was transformed into the Gerald Goblin (which later morphed into Goofy Goblin in our imagined adventures). Both my wife and my college girlfriend have used Jer-Jer.
