Oh for any WD fans who are also Mets fans, here is my latest story for Mets 360 On the old K-Rod signing.

I love these sunday strips capturing the comic strips’ /comicbook art-styles of the past. Just pleeeeeezzz don’t follow it up with futuristic art-styles. I can’t stand Manga or the other crap-styles where every muscle/tendon sticks out and the women have mutated d-size breasts.

I love it! I was surprised to learn that the strip went ‘soap’ for a while. But I’m glad it turned back to humor because I can only stand so much “Prince Valiant” and ‘Rex Morgan’ before I need something to smile about.

It took me a while to warm up to this series, but now I’m loving it.

invertedyesterday: Do you really believe these things are true or are you being as satiric as these strips?

I’ve really enjoyed these history strips. I don’t think I ever quite realized before how thoroughly a comic strip is “owned” and then actualized by a succession of artists and writers while the basic characters remain. I know that makes me a comics naif, but it means this has been a very enlightening series.

@pschearer… to which ‘things’ are you referring? Whatever is happening with the strip, I am enjoying it. Is that such a bad thing?

“Rex Morgan, M.D.”, or perhaps “Apartment 3-G”? I haven’t seen either in decades. Dana is really cute in the first panel, and I love Jay’s 70’s hair in the bottom left panel (yeah, I had hair like that then too). But Rita really takes the cake… in the bottom right panel, she is actually smiling (in a positive way) about her workers’ personal lives!
